Session notes from our playtests

  • If Stick Box - Ragdoll Slowmo feels unfair at first, slow down inputs; ragdoll weight usually settles after a few attempts.
  • Prefer landscape on tablets when testing Stick Box - Ragdoll Slowmo embeds with dense tool menus.

Gameplay experience

Stick Box - Ragdoll Slowmo stars a flexible blue ragdoll you literally drag through frantic rooms of red stickmen. Pull the body to move, drag arms to attack, touch weapons to pick them up—dexterity and strategy share the same gesture.

Levels and bosses escalate the chaos. Our wins came from controlling where the blue torso sat before swinging arms; wild flailing looked cool and still ate hits from every direction.

Slowmo moments (when they hit) turned fights into readable puzzles. We used those beats to grab a weapon or reposition instead of panic-spinning the whole skeleton.

Controls

Everything is drag. Focus so the first grab locks onto the body, not the background.

  • Move body: Click and drag the character’s body to travel through the level.
  • Attack: Drag the arms to strike enemies—aim the arc, do not scribble randomly.
  • Pick up weapons: Touch weapons to equip them, then use arm drags with the new reach.
  • Boss patience: On bosses, reposition first, then commit an arm swing—greed trades end runs.

Game mechanics

Body drag and arm drag are separate verbs—locomotion vs. offense.

Weapons change reach and timing when touched/picked up mid-fight.

Clearing levels means defeating enemies and bosses sequentially with ragdoll agility.

Difficulty

Early red packs teach drag literacy; bosses punish torso neglect.

If overwhelmed, stop attacking and drag the body to open space before the next swing.

Strategy & tips

  • Torso first: Place the body where arms can reach one enemy—not the whole horde.
  • Grab steel early: Touch weapons as soon as they appear; bare-arm packs get ugly fast.
  • Use slowmo windows: When time eases, reposition or equip—do not waste the beat on random flails.
  • Boss: poke and leave: Land one clean arm arc, drag out, reset. Trading forever favors the boss.
  • Don’t drag yourself off: Edges and pits still exist—watch where the blue body travels while you swing.

Device notes (desktop & mobile)

Mouse drag on desktop felt best for separating body moves from arm attacks.

Touch works in landscape; use fullscreen so weapon pickups are not hiding under thumbs.
